Default Long shot, Any dockers/importers on here

As above I have a question about shipping, I have been told that twice a year the BIG ships from Japan, China etc come into UK ports to drop off all the cheap import stuff.
My question is what are the two windows they use to dock? I think it might be April and October but I am after confirmation.

Thanks in advance
Tim.

If you speak to the large shipping companies, then theyll confirm that ships sail from Japan every month or thereabouts (for the larger lines).

Unfortunately youve been tipped the wink by someone who didnt know what theyre talking about. Even at the height of the importing boom I didnt have to wait for more than four weeks for space on a RoRo from Japan.

I have containers coming in every month with Evergreen, normally the shipping lines use a "feeder" ship from a smaller port and that feeder arrives at a bigger port such as singapore where all the containers off of the smaller ships are put on the bigger ship.

Evergreen run a weeky service that arrives every Sunday this same ship stops at all the main ports in europe:

you can check the arrivals here for thamesport:

Thamesport Vessel Schedule

but felixstowe will be much busier.

RoRo (roll on roll off) wont be carrying much "booty" apart from cars all the good stuffs on the container ships

With this being a car forum Id presumed that 'imports' related to cars..... If thats not the case then my comments/experience arent going to be relevant.
