Mountain BIke help : Dyno?
Hello
My bike has unfortunately snapped a pedal and CostCo's policy is that they just refund (and the bike isn't in stock anymore). Anyway they have something called a "Dyno Ditch 3.0". I can't find ANYTHING on the internet.
Does anyone know of this bike?
Thanks,
Steve

new/replacement pedals will set you back around a tenner if nothing special and you like the bike.
It might be an indicator of how good the quality of the components are though, not trying to be funny at all. Perhaps it is worth taking back and changing for something better.
I did the cycle to work scheme and got a great bike for a lot less than it should be.

It is possible, you just need to drill the thread out, pain in the **** but doable, small pilot hole first, then progressively larger ones until you can prise the remainder out, you shouldnt have to but it saves the fannying about taking it back and forth, then **** a tenners worth of pedals on from Halfords.
Check out the components on the alternative, generally unless its utter crap the frames are all made in a handful of factories by machine to quite high standards so its the gears and stuff, see if they are comparable, if it reatils for th esame ammount is shoul dbe broadly similar.
Have to say it sounds crap if you have snapped a pedal off, they are generally a centimeter of very hard steel !

Take the money and get a better one elsewhere.
Or take it to a bikeshop, have them remove the old bit, and buy some new pedals.
If the worst comes to the worst, a new crank arm will sort it.

If you are gonna use the bike alot then would get a refund and put the money towards getting a proper bike,as these cheap ones really can't take much abuse..As said a set of cheapo peddles will be a few quid, and a bike shop repair will probably cost you more as they will probably remove the crank and just replace the pedal arm rather than taking the time to drill it out etc..
