XBox or PS2 or ........? Discuss

Sony is a truested source of good entertainment.
Microsoft brings us the blue screen of death.........hmmm after all the X-Box has effectively got Win 2000 on it!!!
I have played on an X-Box and it is pretty awesome, but only a tiny fraction of the games are any good, graphically superb, but gameplay? Hmmm. Lacking.
Not everyone will have the same opinion as me, depends on your gaming needs really
roll on PS3
It's Sony all the way for me (Would accept the X-Box as a gift though )
BTW Halo on the X-Box is pretty damn impressive and I don't like those kind of games, I am more Tomb Raider view for that kind of game.
Still, GT3 and the Final Fantasy games still rock

I may buy one as well as my PS2.
I am a devout Playstation fan, having owned one since the beginning, way back in 96. But I am not too patriotic to the mark, and could be tempted to buy the XBox as well.
I personally think we haven't seen anything yet on PS2, even though GT3 and MGS2 are impressive. If you remember the early days of PS1 the games were amazing compared to SNES, MegaDrive etc, but later on they just became even better. Remember how awesome Gran Turismo was when you first played it? In comparison to everything that had come along before it on PS1.
Just my Euro's worth Buy them both, as FB said it is only money.

The PlayStation 3 GS will feature 256Mb of on-die DRAM. The current implementation has just 32Mb of embedded memory. 'GS 3' will be capable of handling 75 million polygons per second with a fill rate of 1.2-2.6 billion pixels per second. Its 2Kb internal bus provides a bandwidth of 48GBps.

PS3 could be an upgrade to the PS2 . . . .
[Edited by DJ Dunk - 3/13/2002 12:14:18 PM]
Presenting the chip, Simplex Solutions VP Aurangzeb Khan said that yields of the GS 3 (our name, not his) were meeting Sony's expectations. That suggests it may be not too far off full-scale shipment. The PlayStation 3 isn't expected until next year at the earliest, though with Xbox due to ship late 2001, Sony may be keen to hasten the release of the follow-up to the PlayStation 2, whether it's a full revamp of the console or simply an upgrade.
Khan would not say whether the GS 3 would be used in a successor to the PlayStation 2. The second version of the PlayStation 2's central processor, the Emotion Engine, is due to appear next year, according to Sony's roadmap

Nice stats, but they don't mean ****.
The PS2 is a dedicated design - they decided on a spec for PS2 and designed it properly. XBOX is a PC with tweaks and thus inherently flawed. If both are given the same Mhz/RAM/Bandwith the PS2 would kick XBOX's ar$e.
PS2 is to scoob as XBOX is to Cossie (500bhp, but no finesse! )
Roll on PS3

ok being japanese im all for Sony but am openminded to not get involved with MSs bad reputation. I like the idea of being able to upgrade a games machine. sure its more like a pc with more moving parts so its more prone to faults but ive had one for some months now & now probs. Some new games ive seen in development are awesome. Games will only get better. The main prob may be the gameplay which actually is the #1 priority, without gameplay it all sucks
