Default Show off your HiFi!!!

As we've done the Show off your Home cinema and Flat screen telly threads, i'd really like to show off my HiFi. Have had this system for a good few years now but rarely get use out of it. After huffing with the missus on Sunday i tidied up the back room and fired her up for the first time in maybe a year, it was refreshingly good to find it sounded even better than I remembered, so for the past few nights i've been using them old things called CD's again!

Spec:
Apollo Rack
Marantz PM17 Ki Sig Mk2 Amp
Marantz CD-17 mk1
Myryad MCD-500 (practically brand new just gathers dust)
Monitor Audio Gold Ref.10 Bookshelfs
Sennheiser HD495 Headsphones
Custom made copper speaker cables
Ixos Exotica Reference Phono cables.
Russ Andrews Powercords

Go on post up your HiFi's of past and present, i've forgotten how great real HiFi actually is until this week!

The HiFi blows the **** clean outta my Home cinema system, although i'd be pissed if it didn't as the amplifier alone cost close to £1500 when it was new. I was even more impressed with it after demoing a system at £10k in Lyric HiFi about 2 years ago to find my Hifi sounded almost as good for alot less money.

Ok, so not Hi-fi but it's where most of my musical entertainment comes from

This is my back bedroom which is my space and little studio project...

Equipment is as follows:
  • 2x Denon DN-S1000 CDJ's (excellent FX on each one)
  • 1x Technics 1210 M3D Direct Drive Turntable w/Stanton D500 ALII Stylus
  • 1x Behringer DJX700 Mixer
  • 1x Sennheiser HD215 Headphones
  • 2x Gemini GSM-1250 Monitor speakers (100 watts RMS [200 peak] each)
  • 1x Carlsbro Powerline 300 Amplifier (2x150 watts RMS)

I made the deck stand/table myself. Got some decent pine wood from B&Q in 3 different lengths and 2 widths, drew up a simple diagram, got some nails, a drill, screwdriver and a pencil and set to over a couple of evenings LOADS cheaper than buying one from HTFR etc., and to my own dwarf height setting too

I didn't take a picture of the "cracking" ceiling (to the left of the last pic )

Neighbours are pretty cool, as one generally can't hear me and the others are tone deaf anywho.

They're pretty tolerant since I stopped using the 1000watt fairground speaker that the left hand side monitor speaker is stood on in the corner

My hifi setup is very simple

Pioneer A400 amp
Pioneer PD-S703 cd player
Mission M33i floorstander speakers
Ixos 6003 speaker cable
Qed Reference Audio 1 interconnect

A quality, well balance sound that still impresses me when it gets over 4 on the volume control

Not sure that 11 boxes from Salisbury and a gramophone from Scotland would look as impressive as some of this DJ kit, but it sure sounds good.

They are actually pretty good. I very rarely have the amp on more than 45-50% when using at home, so the beats are very punching and you can easily define basslines from beats. The horns are bloody good to and I don't have to adjust any settings on my mixer to counter for anything. This is good for mixing as the middle settings sound better when recording.
