Why do people whinge so much?
Isn’t life fantastic? – after all you could be sitting in a foxhole in Afghanistan being shot at by the Taliban (or the Americans for that matter) or even worse clinging to a boat in the Mediterranean as a refugee
What I want to know is, why is it that people who is whinge, always seem to have a lot to whinge about?
Pls do not make this into a political thread – it isn’t

I love to whinge, i may not be stuck in a foxhole or clinging to a boat but i'm just a down and out person at the moment who only gives a **** about his own problems as I have plenty to moan about.

Its all relative isnt it, If I have a crap week then I will moan a bit, I count my blessings but if I thought about everyone else in the world and put myself into a "how lucky am I" league table I would only end up moaning about how long things take to think about everything.

I was having a whinge to a squaddie about having to work an 11 hour day, then he told me he was shipping out to Iraq for six months the next day. Ever since that day I've tried to not whinge...can't fault a good rant from time to time though!
I was out for a walk with the dog today, stopped to buy an ice cream from a van. The old bloke moaned like chuff at the kids in front of me, who in their defence were well behaved and pleasant (and I hate kids!). I eventually got served and he just moaned about them not having change etc...I offered to change some money for him and he declined! I wouldn't mind but it was in the middle of nowhere and he must have just served about 40 kids, not bad for trade I thought! Miserable foofer!

Some people will just whinge for the sake of it, it seems to give them pleasure, especially if they can upset someone along the way.
However, it is all relative. I for one am not going to feel bad if I let off steam because I've had a bad day, or am going through something, just because there are other people out there who have it worse. There are always people worse off, and I genuinely feel for them but a problem is a problem to the person feeling it. Mindless bitching is one thing, but having a bit of a rant or moan isn't always a bad thing.
I am thankful for alot of things in life, but my life isn't perfect by a long stretch (partly my fault). I appreciate the good things, but I will not feel guilty for having a moan now and then.

When I think I'm hard done by, I think of someone who is ill, disabled or destitute and then sing the Anthrax song, Who Cares Wins to my self. It has the chorus - "There but for the grace of God"

I am Victor Meldrew...
I like a good whinge/moan/rant. If I had nothing to whinge about, I'd moan about it.
Also, because I've spent time in foxholes (albeit Iraq, not Afghanistan), do I get special dispensation to whinge at will...?
[Can I whinge about the fact the spell checker doesn't recognise "whinge"?]

Metallica for me, "I can't find the will to live......"
Don't whinge much, but as dog number two is nearly a "late parrot", I'm currently being accused of being miserable all the time.
On a positive note the several pounds a week I spent on dog food can now be spent on V-Power.....
dunx
