Fuse box issue or something bigger?

Fuse box issue or something bigger?
Ok, i know its about another car, but the particular faults are car general, and its not a subaru so it fits in this forum 
(mods please dont move as this forum gets the most views )
A mate of mine has a Fix It Again Tomorow Punto, and firstly the interior lights went out, and then the radio stopped working. now my first thought was fuses?
Then the back lights went a bit funky, for example when you indicate left or right, the brake lights flicker instead of the indicators.
Does anybody know what this could be?

I had a similar issue with my Alfa Romeo, thought it was dodgy earths etc. turned out to be a faulty body control unit. 490quid later, everything is OK........for now.
