Sounds flipping expensive for something that just goes beep in a posh way
Compare and contrast that in the same period I will have a free 3G phone, 600 mins, unlimited texts and will only pay £180.

David,
When they say unlimited data, what exactly does that equate to, and don't say "It's unlimited" I guess what I am really asking is in regards to the small print and what Orange really means by "unlimited" as I'm guessing it will not be truly unlimited, probably capped at 500 - 700 MB per month.
I'd say it's not a bad deal considering that the phone is free, as it's at the very least £150 if not more.

Looks like it is 750MB
I really do wish they would just be honest and drop the "unlimited" tag and say it is a max of 750MB per month, and overages will be charged at £x.xx per MB.
As for wether you'd hit the limit, depends what you are doing. I don't view that many videos or do much downloading whilst using 3G, and since June I've received 650MB over 3G. I think you'd need to be viewing quite a bit of content (unless you jailbreak and use 3G Unrestrictor then youtube only shows SD and not HD versions of videos, and other streaming services are possibly limited in the same way) to get close to that, unless you are using tethering, but that's an additional charge as well.
Tether wise, oh I could hit my limit, which is 6GB per month (Rogers had a special $30/6GB per month deal going on when I got the phone) very easily indeed, but I don't use tethering that much. I've only really used it to see if it actually worked, which it did.

I could have had the same offer with 600mins for £30 but I easily use the 1200mins.
The data cap is OK - I currently use around 100mb per month on 3G so have plenty of scope for upping my usage. I also have a broadband stick so will avoid tethering.
I still think it is a good deal for an iPhone which is my point - I am not seeing any deals out there at this level with a free 32gb phone for an 18 month contract.
As for being a sheep - BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

The cap is 750mb, but if you use more than that, they will just warn you first i think, then if you go over it on the next month they will tell you off and possibly charge you. Well thats how it used to work on the home broadband anyway

And irrespective of comments above - a free 3GS 32gb iPhone irrespective of which package I took is a pretty good deal.

Orange are a waste of space, my phone broke, I had 2 months left on contract and had been with them for 6 years. My monthly was £20 and I spent about £80 on calls (work). They always gave me the phone I asked for and when I called up about this they said we can fix it under Nokias warranty ... we'll send out a letter, I said I need a phone now, can you not just phone the store.. no .. replace the phone .. no ..
Ok I'll pay the £40 for the last two months and leave .. ok then bye bye .. I want my proof of purchase so I can get it fixed.. shocker .. it never came ..

Im guessing your a band five upgrade?
Im unsure about that price, it would be 45 a month over 24 months in the shop, your getting 5 a month off and 6 months off the contract!
If that is right this is where orange go wrong, the internet and retentions can always beat the shops, and that wrong in my opinion. Its almost like British leyland used to be, two arms of one company fighting against each other for business.
w995's are 25 a month from retentions with 600 minutes and a dolphin plan, that would be 30 from a shop, why is that?
the shops are almost pointless if the internet can always beat them!

If the phone broke, Nokia are at fault, not the carrier.

Dont have a work phone, dont want one. I was offered a blackberry but i have one of my own and dont want to carry two.
They restrict what I can do with it on a work supplied phone

The new Nokia E72 has 2 profiles though for business and personal which sounds very interesting if you *must* have a duel purpose phone.

Could never understand people moaning about getting calls about work when they were sunning themselves on the beach on holiday in Spain .... So you offer them the solution and they have all sorts of reasons why they can't have 2 phones. They never admit that they're too tight to buy/pay for their own!
Similarly, with personal phones I can never understand people moaning about receiving calls at 3 in the morning and waking them up. Doh - how about switching the damn thing off?????????? (True story!).

well maybe its a generational thing
I don't really use my mobile phone much after work hours, either for business or personal calls (it actually really annoys me that I check my work emails over the weekend so I often leave the phone in my car all weekend)
sadly the person I phone most is my wife (and my two bothers)
I don't "chat" to anyone on the phone really -- I just don't have the time

GC8 - the bands are different for the iPhone - I was on Panther which was £45 as you state. The iPhone banding is different.
Hodgy - it is a business phone - I own the company
