Re: Threatening behaviour and stalking on SN
Only just noticed this:
https://www.scoobynet.com/news-annou...scoobynet.html
What happened then, who threatened to slap who
Does this explain the mysterious disappearance of Pissy Lewis, has someone finally got to him

complete as it once was. I've certainly cleaned my act up a lot in recent times, and try not to get into any stupid disagreements online - whereas I used to thrive on it.

I actually think he meant someone might have stalked or threatened HIM into leaving. I don't think anonymity on the net is anything like as

In spite of his strange political views, he was a witty bloke and was always entertaining. I think that Sn is the worse for him not being around.
Sorry to have misunderstood you Coffin D, Its just that I never remembered him to ever stalk or threaten anyone, although he was pretty good at sorting out some of the insulting comments that used to appear, especially about his admitted age.

tbh i can't see anyone threatening ps in anything but gest, he may be an anoyance, but its pretty obvious he only does it to wind folks up.
my guess is more to do with rougue traders, or people claiming to have been ripped off by another member

OK guys.
Yes this thread may get locked in the near future because some people who have been involved won't be able to leave things lie and draw a line under it all. Before this happens, I'd like to put our side down in this situation.
I'm not naming names or going into details, but simply put: It has become apparent that some users have been threatening others, on and off the forum (PM, email etc.). This is probably part and parcel of "banter" gone too far. In some cases there maybe an issue where some users can give it, but can't take it, or are determined to get the upper hand by becoming more insulting, threatening, or using SN admin as a means to "get one up" on the other user.
Things have gone too far and we need to draw a line of what is not acceptable (as detailed in the announcement: https://www.scoobynet.com/news-annou...scoobynet.html ).
Personally, I think the parties involved all have dirty hands. They ALL needed to back down, leave it lie and take a chill pill. Grow up. And show little more respect and tolerance for each other.
As a footnote, if anyone has received an abusive or threatening email or PM, then we would like to hear; Send us or Stu a PM. DO NOT "fight back", be it on the board or via PM, in fact cease all communications with the accused, as engaging with them will impede our efforts to investigate and resolve the problem, and possibly undermine yourself, your credibility and perceived honesty.
Thanks

When certain members did cross the line, because they were unable to "spar" properly online, and these situations were reported there seemed to be a lot of (dare I say) Favoritism at the time (only weeks ago).
Of course as you said, "everyone" is guilty. Fair enough, but most of the parties involved did not threaten to come over and give the other person a good seeing to!
Thankfully the Merseyside police (amongst others) would have been more than helpful had things gotten out of control.
It is the reality of things nowadays, unfortunately.
But to be honest, who in their right mind is going to threaten to come over and give someone a beating?
Most folks dont really say what they do, or have done (as a job), and most folks dont know if there are armed or well trained people on the other side of the screen.
Most people who are well trained or have a bit of intelligence keep things at "witty banter".
Rant over.
Thanks.

Somewhat ironic, would you not agree, if Scoobynet has now formalised policy on a matter due to it being responsible for the loss of a poster who should arguably have been banned for life anyway, for his continual disregard for sections of the membership terms and conditions

Definitely. It would be quite empowering, really; like vigilante justice, or at the very least a Neighbourhood Watch scheme.

This place should be like it was (at least from what I know):
A get together of folks who love cars and discuss cars, who by chance also make some light conversation along the way.
Of course that would be too much to ask for.
The net is full of "sick" people who usually dont see the light of day.
They think that they "own" places like Snet.

Jesus, its meant to be a bit of fun, like life, why do people take it so seriously ?
Talk about people like they might be in the room, i.e. don't say anything you won't stand by and don't treat anybody on the net any different to if they were there in person.
J4CKO's pearls of wisdom for today, you bunch of wucking fankers
