my mate lost control of his cossie at 140 today on his way home from work!
he came off the road and hit a lamp post at around 70 and just missed a oak tree, luckily he is ok and only suffered hurt pride.
he was racing a m3 on a long peace of duel carriageway when someone pulled in to the fast lane doing around 60!!!
as you can imagine the car is a mess and he is very lucky to have walked away.
may post some pics later this week to show you guys the state of his car.
made me think!!!

Jonny, the guys on here are abit straight, you may have noticed
Sorry to hear about your m8, all part of driving fast though, and t.b.h, unless the road is totally deserted then 140 mph is alittle too fast...as he found out... heghe

Ease off lads! Fair enough he didn't read the traffic ahead very well which was pretty stupid but I doubt there is anyone here that hasn't seen these speeds before. Hell, I've even seen 140 in the VTS on the motorway (possible tailwind to get the last few mph!)

Sorry mate, but 140 on a public road is really stupid.
What if someone had been by the side of the road and stepped out? Or a car pulled out? Or a pushbike? Or.........
You said dual carriageway, not motorway!!
Too many variables to make it safe, no matter what the drivers ability is.
Oh and even if he is a "19 stone bodybuilder" tell him to come round my place and I will tell him how stupid/ irresponsible he is.
And before the flames, yes I do drive too fast, and yes I do drive a scoob...... but there is a time and place for stupid speeds.

I spose you should give him credit for not running into the guy in front and yeah that guy could / should have paid more attention but 140MPH, c'mon, that's just taking the P a little.
I'm all for making progress etc and yes I have wound my car out as fast as it'll go, after midnight on a desserted dual carriageway. There's a time and place.
Bob
PS, hope he's ok and gets paid out
