Steve, it is. But im waiting til Dec/Jan til any teething problems are sorted. I will get mine when the rush is over.
Til then I have ordered the 8520 to get used to the trackpad, and enjoy a device with a bit more memory lol.
Going from 56mb to 256mb
Cant justify it really, but stuck at home for weeks after more surgery, and got a good tariff so thought sod it.
£19 a month (first 24 month contract I have done) with a free 8520
Alan what you gettin ?

Same as you, the 8520. The ex has one and I managed to get a shot last week(of the phone, not the ex). Looks good!
I'm on a 24 month contract at the moment and I regret it! I probably didn't think it through as much as I should have though.

I as convinced by having a quick play in the shop this afternoon. I blame the missus, I was taking her shoes to be re-healed next door lol.
24 month aint so bad, as long as you are happy with the carrier.
In this case, the price is so low, it had to be done.
Let me know how you get on with it when you get round to getting it

lol I have a number of contracts which I can get new handsets on. But in fairness I have been using an pretty old BB for 16 months now, and have not felt the need to upgrade or anything, even with newer models on the market (until now of course)
24 months with the 8520 or 9700 will not be an issue for me, like it has been in the past. I have over the years slowly lost interest in the race to have the latest all the time.
This is just a necessary step for me.... And hopefully an infrequent one from now on.
First time I have even gone for 24 months. Recently stepped up to 18's, but usually qualify for silly early upgrades anyway, just in case haha.

Naaa I doubt it lol
Not worth a hell of a lot my old one.
I can usually upgrade at month 12 of 18 or there abouts. But in this case, as long as the phone suits me within a few days, I will be happy with it til the end.
2 more days to wait......

Snaz, did you play with a 9700 in the shop?
It's got the usual 9000 build quality, but in a 8900 shell and with a decent keyboard and trackball.
I'm very impressed so far.

Sounds like a good start though. Not a track BALL thought eh
The Bold is the 3G range, the Curve the non 3G, but both are excellent phones. Slight keyboard differences too.

I have a Curve 8320 at the mo and like the trackball on that too. But am looking forward to using the next step in cursor navigation
I got to admit, between the trackball on the 8900's and the older 8300's I prefer mine lol. Only cos its easier to clean

Yup you sure can. Mine runs at 80% on my 8320
I like the trackball too. Not knocking it, just looking forward to using a trackpad instead
Dis-own him! lol

Doh, yeah I meant trackpad, not ball.
Trackballs vary in reliability depending on what you do for a living imo, white collar workers tend to have few issues, but I'm usually a bit grubby and forever clog up the rollers and the big problem with the 8900 is having to disassemble the phone (invalidating warranty) in order to change it. Fingers crossed, the new pad won't have this issue.
I'm running .244 on my 9700 and it's working very well, great battery life, no crashing and very speedy between functions and apps.
The camera is half decent, the keyboard is superb (like the Bold, but a little smaller) and it has a real feeling of quality about it, well impressed.
