Thumbs up Struggling to get through the day?

I know things can be tough - SN can be slow, people can post things you don't like, you are annoyed that your Impreza only pushes out 215BHP .... and to top it all off someone who you don't know and have never met posts something on the Internet which winds you up.

Think of this real tale of courage, strength and will when things are getting a little hard going in your day .....

A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'

The father who, despite having a heart condition said 'yes.'

They went on to complete the marathon together.

Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying
'yes' to his son's request of going through the race together...

One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.' To which, his father said 'yes' too.

For those who don't know, the Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever.

The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometers)
ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometers) bike ride, and
ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometers) marathon along the coast of
the Big Island .

The father and son went on to complete the race together.

NOW WATCH THIS VIDEO and view the race:

Inspirational stuff.

Puts our little problems into perspective, doesn't it?

We are, although we don't always realise it, extremely lucky!

That is indeed, utterly astonishing.

Personally i'm frustrated by the religious accreditation at the end, there is no need for that in my opinion, but what a phenomenal accomplishment nevertheless.

I did also notice the Religious overtone, but felt the underlying story to be so powerful that it was worth sharing.

Made me think of the times I have said no.

Inspirational stuff that is, I would guess based more on a fathers love rather than religion or arguably a combination of the two.

Nevertheless an amazing story that had me trying to control the tear ducts.

"The thing I'd most like is that my dad would sit in the chair and I would push him once."

Bless him.

Bangs my problems into touch.

Nothing wrong with a bit of religious overtone occasionally.
