Get to work and back sh***er?
I cannot afford to run my beloved type R during the week as I have a 76 mile daily commute and not having shares with Shell I run my "Get to work and back sh***er "
1.5Td Corsa 1995 3dr in redish pink. worth a balloon on a stick but I love her 120 ish miles to a tenner and every weekend end when I pull the scoob out of the garage it scares the p*ss out of me for the first few miles.
Do you run a sh***er?
if so what have you got?
if it's worth over £700 it does not count!

Yeah, problem is it's my only car at the moment
1999 VW Passat 1.8S 20V (those extra four valves make all the difference ). Might be a shade over £700 perhaps

133K. I'm the 3rd owner with my mother being 2nd and she bought in when it had only done 44K.
She gave it to me when she bought her Audi and I was looking for a car as a daily whilst not using my Impreza.
Gone through 2 Imprezas but the Golf has stayed throughout.
I'm the same though as its my only car right now.

Nope the other car is worth a bit more than that. It's a diesel though, so I drive that one when I can. I don't work though, I am lucky enough that all I use my car for is to drop my son off at nursery.
Get me!! lol.
Not very economical or good for the car though, as she has barely warmed up for the entire journey there and back.

Just got rid of a P reg maroon fiesta ghia - shame as it had only done 55k miles but the lure of the trade-in and being fed up with de-icing the inside of the screen in winter just made me swap it - for a mini cooper s. a bit indulgent for a station car but couldn't stand the algae ridden ford any longer

I had this when my current car was getting its engine rebuilt, cost me a total of 250 quid for a car with one previous owner and 55k on the clock:
But of course me being me, I had to convert it to drift spec
I really regret selling that car, it was an absolute hoot to drive
astraboy.

My Scoob was a daily driver - 25miles round trip. As was my S4, and now my mk5 Golf GTi.
My "****ter" was Wifey's 306 GTi6 - not very frugal, but **** it.

Did it for a bit, but it drove me insane with boredom....
B reg Polo 1.3 : went well (often seen annoying reps in the BMW/Audi lane on the M6 ), didn't handle, was mechanically perfect but its life was ended by a sleepy taxi driver.
K reg Rover 216GSi : cushy spec, comfy, didn't handle, didn't go, didn't stop and guzzled fuel (automatic). Payed £250 Sold for £500 (after I spent some money on new brakes trailing arm bushings etc).
D-reg Nissan sunny 1.3 : went ok (faster than the Rover), handled well (I kid you not). But I couldn't be arsed to spend £50 on a new headlamp for the MOT, so I scrapped it.
Then needed something practical and a bit less, well, shed-like. So tatted round in a BMW e46 325 touring which is a horrible gutless pile of crap, crappy handling and crappy comfort, I prefered the Nissan (as I never expected anything from it). Still have it, but its used as pool car now. I avoid driving it whenever possible. Its needed more money spending on it than the combined purchase cost of the Polo and Nissan (suspension bushings, MAF, water pump, thermostat, voltage regulator, crank sensor, cam sensor....). Its also the only car that I've had thats broken down and left me stranded in the middle of nowhere. This is probably why I hate it so much
So I bought a fully loaded e39 530 M-sport that was going cheap (needs a full respray - mechanically perfect), much better. Bliss in fact. But I gave it to my mum when she did her back in (Her Celica was a bit too awkward to get in-out of).

I have a 1991 Mini Cooper as my daily commute to work car and it is fantastic however when I get in my MY00 Impreza (that handles like a scalextric car) it actually feels like a big wobbly yank tank. all lite wollowy and aweful.

My daily drive is a Laguna 1.8, funny thing is the more I drive it the more I like it.
It is treated like a van the back seats haven't been in the up position for months, it has transported three kitchens about and a bathroom.
Prob done hundreds of trips to the dump in it, and it hasn't given me one problem.
