Easy enough to get a sound, the difficult bit is mastering the uninterrupted breathing technique. It involves using your tongue to block your throat whilst breathing in through your nose and continuing to blow by expelling air with you cheeks.

You can learn to get a decent sound out of them within a couple of minutes.... easy really. The hard part is learning the circular breathing. Like corrado boy says, you gotta breathe in through your nose whilst keeping the air flowing with your mouth.
Youtube will help, but practice is the only way. You'll just keep running out of breath at first, then you'll get gaps in the sound while you're breathing in and not keeping the air flowing, then you'll get it. Once the skill is acquired, its like riding a bike.
My mate is awesome on his, he can beatbox through it too
