Is it possible to plug something like a Sky+ box into a DVD player and hdmi out to a tv ?

eg.

Sky+ > scart out > DVD player > hdmi out > tv ?

I'm wondering if it's possible to someway get the Sky+ picture into the tv via hdmi ?

(I already have a SkyHD box with an hdmi, but this doesn't concern above problem)

I think DVD Recorders allow you to do this. Well i know the Pioneer ones did as i sold them but it didn't make any difference to the picture quality.

My amp allows you to have Scart inputs and one HDMI to TV.

I understand - the picture is analogue and being converted to digital by the DVD player, so it's not perfect, but it looked decent on a flatscreen ?

I'd much prefer a SkyHD box (I already have one upstairs) but Sky want £199 for an additional SkyHD box and it's not worth it. I'm stuck with the Sky+

Honestly the best way to get a good picture out of an non-HD sky box is to set it to RGB and get a good quality scart like a Philex Thor. Putting sign thru a DVD Recorder aint isn't going to make it look any better on a flat screen.

mine too, kind of (Onkyo SR-507) but it's hooked up to my SkyHD, d'oh!
