Seems we're getting my 5 year old a DS Lite for Xmas. He's asked Santa for a black one .....
Anyway, not being into consoles myself I was wondering if anyone had any fan dabby dozy urls/shops/'dodgy back street dealers' to go looking? We had friends down with said consoles who placed the idea in his brain (cheers guys!) and they mentioned game.com and a couple of other places. Seems they do refurbished stuff that's a) quite reasonable and b) good quality. They seem out of refurbed ones when I looked last (though the first post after this will be from someone who begs to differ!) so any other ideas mucho appreciated.

I have found that most stores are around the same price, to the extent that the best place I could find was Argos when they were doing their voucher scheme (Over £50/£5 back, over £100/£10 back). I bought a refurbished DS and the pins were bent/broken to insert the cartridge (it went back ...).

GAME do some good bundles this time of year. High street store.
One word of warning, make sure you buy the screen savers to put on the screens (small self - adhesive plastic square) as invariably the stylus will get chewed & it will scratch the screen!
Also, GAME do some great Buy one get one free offers on the games. They will also take your old games back & give you money off towards new games - not a great deal, but worth doing as they outgrow / don't enjoy particular games.
We also had a friend download some games onto a card for us, don't ask me how, but it saved us a fortune!!

Mate every year it gets more expensive lol.
Kind off lucky in the fact that are 5 year old is happy with anything thats ben 10. but he has a ds lol
When we had to buy them last year we got them from blockbusters You know the dvd rental place. they do refurbed ones as well. If not and this might sound abit tight but if ares want something abit expensive we explain that if they want it we will give them the money but look after it till after xmas as thet come up really cheap un wanted presents and sales.

Ta for advice. Actually got it in a local shop - Console or something. For just under a ton - a new DS Lite in the Black he wanted plus a Supermario and Sonic at the Olympics (or something) game that he liked when he tried a friends out.
