Default Need to pay Euros by £ sterling cheque- can I?

Guys, I need to send a cheque to Ireland but have to pay in Euros. Can I do this with a UK cheque book?

No.

You can send a cheque in sterling which they can cash and convert at the prevailing rate. Other options are Paypal or credit card.

You may be able to pay by bank transfer - sorry not sure. But worth asking your bank. You'd need their bank details and your bank would make a charge. dl

You probably COULD do what David says, but be warned: a bank transfer to a foreign bank is a load of work.
You need IBank numbers for BOTH banks, full account details for both banks, plus it'll cost you a MINIMUM of £18 to do, £40 at some banks

The bl**dy form takes 15 minutes to fill in!

So much for open European banking.

OK. Plan B then. If it's a small amount say under £200 then just get Euro cash from a PO, hide cash well in an envelope and just post to them using International Signed and Insured. dl

Not sure that would be appropriate.. its for a replacement share certificate; the registrar's in Dublin. Will ring them tomorrow and see what they recommend.
