Default Parking in London

I'm heading into Hyde Park on Sunday this weekend, I checked with a cabbie friend of mine who said that street parking (non permit areas) are free on Sundays.

Can anyone confirm or dispute this please, as I dont want to get myself ticketed, towed or clamped!

Thanks

Fitz

See lampost signs to be sure, but yes there is a lot of evening and weekend parking for free. Curzon St, Berkley Square etc are good areas.
Try and park to the east of the park. Bayswater Road and above can be a bitch lol.

Although that said, that area is also less popular with shoppers, so might be easier to find a space.

Cheers fellas, I'll give that a go - saves getting the tube again!

Where you coming from. Might be just as easy to park a bit further out and tubing a few stops.

do not park in a residents bay -- or if you do check and re-check the timings

otherwise you will get towed

it is safer (and legal) to park on a single yellow

Parking Spaces, Driveways and Garages for Rent | Rent out Parking

I sell my space on here and loads of others do too. Guaranteed you will be fine with almost any of these and you will probably find somewhere right outside.

Try parking around Chelsea as it isn't too bad on a Sunday.

I used to use an underground car park by Hyde Park and take the tube from there. As Dave said it was convenient, not too pricey and I bet your car would be safer there too.

Just back home, had great day out, wandering around the Winter Wonder Land.

Ended up parking on Curzon Street and walking 2 minutes to Hyde Park, loads of spaces at lunch time.

Fancy I'll be doing more of that in the future. I can get a direct train from Hertford, but its much nicer to be in your own car.

Thanks for all the information
