You can get little Scooby models? I was going to suggest a remote control car - but that might be more appreicated when his a little older!!

I recently brought a little cuddly ScoobyDoo that talks for a friend with a baby - I know it's a cuddly toy - but it is scooby related!

Depends on what you want to spend. We got a photo studio series of sessions from a friend. Basically we were able to take our sprog in every 6 months for a portfolio of pictures capturing his development from 6m to 2.5years. That was pretty damn cool.
Otherwise I liked the bottle of vodka my mate gave me to dull the pain of the first 3months sleep deprivation.
Regards
Chuck

The most useful thing we found with out daughter was a battery operated swinging chair that plays tunes (available from Mothercare
for £60 and up)...
Hey why not go to Mothercare and look through there and see if anything takes your fancy.
Or a bouncy chair from £20 and up...
Swinging chairs and bouncy chairs

Either that or we always appreciated stuff that you know you are going to need but are not down to taste (nothing worse than an outfit the person giving thinks is lovely and you hate)
like a pack of nappies... huge pack is only £5.65 I think it is, and you could do that and a bottle of vodka or something.

JGM2 is right on the mark!! I bought one of these (not the battery ones, just the bouncy one that you hand from the roof) for my inlaws, and they loved it! They could put the lil one in there and know he's having fun, safe and leaves them with some time for other things. Lasts for years and will be good for more of their kids too. Well worth the money. They'll thank you too because toys just need to be tidied all the time!!

Without sounding like a true woman - remember to keep the receipt in case someone else has thought of it too. (you DID say you're a single guy!!!)
