Starting to hear about the new '10 registration' plates which come out next month, but this has got me thinking - so from September I'm guessing it'll be '50' reg, then March 2011 will be '11', then Sept 2011 will be '51'... again?
So anyone who has a 2010 car could just get an old 2001 '51' reg plate on as a private plate, but it would just appear to be a brand new car?
Anyone care to correct me?!

The March ones get the year and the September ones get the year plus 50. That works until the year 2050, where it has 50 and 00. In March 2051 if unchanged the system will hit 51 which was already used in September 2001.
