Default Faith restored in human kindness!

After breaking down whilst entering a petrol station on Monday and not one ****er would help me move my car(pushing, steering and breaking in a small area is fooking hard going imo) even though it was in their own interest as i was blocking their way, I was somewhat peeved up at the scumbags in NI.

But after the RacingAlfa broke down yet again thisevening it was nice that at least one person decided to stop and offer me a hand!

Thank you Mr Silver Mondeo!

Can't believe i'm going to have to get the train of shame into work tomorrow thou.

I always stop if it is a female in distress and/or in a dangerous position (the car) or the person 'looks' like they need some help.

I believe in Karma and hope someone would do the same for me and for Jen

If it had been an Alfa driver i would first head home and bring both tool kits!

To be on the wee motor i put 30k on her in under 12months when i was working for Sky traveling all over NI. She's about to hit the big 100k so it needs just a bit of TLC.

I need a new thermostat and Cranksensor and she'll be right as rain, ordered the parts last friday and they still haven't arrived at the motorfactors! Hopefully have it sorted by the end of next week!

Alfas are nice cars though i love mine but I've been looking at classic Impreza's lately as i can now just about afford to insure one but I can't get the fact out of my head that the cabin is such a utter **** place to be.

you won't even care about the cabin once you've been driving it for a while, but if you wanna drive something real uncomfortable buy a series 3 land rover, reliability will be worse than the alfa as well.

Glad to hear it! I had a similar experience in the mini ice-age. Basically got stuck in the snow (rear wheel drive car! ) 4 times over the snowy period, and every time passers by helped me out (despite being in a BMW as well!)

Had some guy on his way to work help push me out of some deep snow near my house, a load of students helped push me onto my drive when I was unable to get up the slight incline onto it, a couple of people push me quite a way up the hill outside my business park and someone from another office help get me moving in the business park!

Something nice about random strangers just helping out!

Sorry about the problem and just as much about the lack of help. Seems to be getting worse these days.

You need a different car:

Get an old series Land Rover, park it by the side of main road with the bonnet open. Within 15 to 30 minutes a Landy nut will pull by and ask if you want help

Similar thing happened to me when the Pugs alternator gave up the goose when talking the Mrs to work one morning. No power or anything on a singal lane main road. Me and her pushing as best we could and not one person stopped to offer assistance, just overtook. So thought bollocks and pushed the car right into the middle of the lane of traffic and blocked anyone else from overtaking until we got it round a corner a couple hundred yards away. I got a few ****** signs and me and Nat were pissing ourselves (whilst shattered LOL).
