BBC News - Tirade against 'damp rag' EU president shocks MEPs

Quality

Watch Van Rumpoy's expression drain as his pompous self importance is pricked by Nigel Farage.

Not been a good week for the socialists (communists) so far.

Whatever one thinks of Rempuy who seems to be less than impressive, I think that that outburst was ill mannered especially when he insulted Belgium, which was quite unecessary.

Farage could have got his points across easily enough without letting himself and GB down in such a manner.

Totally agree, Farage is a complete ****, and showed his true idiocy in that xenophobic and insulting outburst

Nice to see so many on here think this was a good thing

not a good advert for our country really, there are ways and means of achieving your aims and although being a gobby **** is one of them it doesn't show much eloquence...I did enjoy watching him get ridiculed on Question Time though.

Whilst I agree it was a cheap shot, this is freedom of speech in action. And considering he is paid more than president Obama, if he cannot brush this off he is not fit to be in the job.

I certainly have no affinity with Van Rumpiy, or the position he holds. I just don't think Farage's approach was appropriate

I don't know who this 'everybody' is you refer to, I pretty sure the vast majority of people have got the faintest idea who he is.

As for Farage well he's needs the likes of Van Rumpy pumpy and the EU, without them he has no party or platform.

Be interesting to put a lie detector on Farage and find out if he REALLY wants 'UK independence' from the EU

I think you would be surprised, Farage probably only says what the majority in this country are thinking. It doesn't mean to say that the majority are right of course, but most people take a pretty straightforward view of things; if it smells like horsesh*t, it probably is horsesh*t!

As an aside, doesn't taking grave offence at everything you don't agree with become a bit of a burden eventually?

This comes from the man who's current political idol is being reported in the

press for using bullying tactics towards his staff

pot kettle black???

At least Nigel Farage has the ***** to stand up and tell someone what he

thinks, rather than sit in his seat and look l bored to death like like some of

them in that clip.

That was just excruciatingly embarrassing. Flange must be mistakenly thinking he is the "Nasty" judge on some 3rd rate talent show. The foofing idiot won't get anywhere fast behaving like that. It's time we had some "Old School" political gravitas.

OK thats different

What on earth makes you think I support Brown, in fact I was totally opposed to him becoming PM, and without a shadow of doubt will be voting against him at the next election
