It's a couple of inches up from the cuff. Maybe the shop I bought it from had sewn it in. It's only a travel suit but I've taken it off but the wife thought you left it on.

Oh Man! Never leave them on. I was looking at a watch in Goldsmiths a few months ago, and the tool behind the counter had left the 'River Island' tag on the sleeve.
I really wanted to tell him, but it seemed to be so obvious that I cant see that hed have appreciated it nor taken it in...

Paul Smith Londons do. Im looking at a new one now and it has it affixed to the left sleeve bottom (and theres little doubt as to their originality, as it came from PS's shop in Nottingham). I also have a new Paul Smith PS which doesnt, although it may have had...

I just said I don't remember them having arm tags. I was wearing a London today and I don't remember having to remove a tag. But the
shop may have already taken it off.
Whatever - always remove it!

I only ever buy Hugo Boss now - they, as Paul Smith, have the arm labels - leaving it on would be like leaving the price label attached

Most suites have the designers name embroidered onto a patch on the sleeve, makes it easier for some to choose a suit based on the designer maybe?
The idea is that you remove it once you purchse the suit although it did seem to be a trend some time back to keep them on still to show off who your suit was by.
A nicely designed, well made from good cloth suit does tend to stand out from a crowd, same as a nice pair of shoes really.

All of Paul Smith suits when sold from the store tend not to have them on display as they are removed when arriving at the store or beforehand at the factory. Where sold at other outlets such as designer shops, they sometimes carry the 'tag' purely as people have said, to identify them when on the rack. Most shops remove them before displaying them however all tags like that should be removed before wearing unless you are a complete show off or like wearing your clothes inside out

The exception to the rule is when labels such as Stone Island (remember them !!) had the lable as part of the design, usually removable with two buttons at each end.
And yes, I used to work for Paul Smith but that was a long time ago

Itd take a better reason than that to travel SO far South!

I have a lot of reasonable suits: with approaching half bought in the manner that youve suggested. Its nice to buy at Havey Nichols or similar sometimes. You always get the most wear out of an £800 suit that you bought for £200 or less of course, but its a lot harder to find and find what you like.
With regards to Paul Smith: one of the suits Ive mentioned on the thread came from Paul Smiths warehouse sale in Nottingham (they invite you to come and you queue outside a warehouse from 5am) for £60!

I was looking at some Paul Smith Suits in Selfridges, they leave the tags on there, I bought a Hugo Boss instead, which also had the tags on, definately remove before wearing though

You're all a bunch of flash Harry's. Bet there is nothing different between the suits you mention and one that you can get at Burton's.

PS. I don't actually own a suit myself.
