Default UK Met Office Temperature Records in doubt

Apparently the Met Office is now asking for some one to go through and check its temperature records and the calculations it has done about future trends as they think it might have errors!! Considering they cant predict the weather 3 months in advance (Last years barbecue summer for example) what chance do they have 5 years in advance

Strange how all this is now coming to light after the emails from the UEA shows what a wide spread conspiracy it is, still i suspect Government grants are only given to organisations that promote the man made Global Warming so they can tax us more

Aren't the BBC thinking of dumping the Met office, as they get everything wrong?

I heard that too.

If I want a weather forecast, I ask Google, it's usually right, whereas the Metoffice was only right 50% of the time, if that.

They are too busy pushing the government's global warming crap to do the weather properly, anyway.

IIRC, the predicted a warm winter. It's been the hardest one in 30 years apparently.

It's all lip service.
They'll have it checked because they have some "concerns."
Shortly after they'll come out with "we've had it checked and guess what, our figures are correct."

Cool

I watched the last "How Earth Made Us" last night, and he came out with one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard.

He said that the only reason we weren't in an ice now (actually since 7000 years ago) was that man had altered the climate by burning land to clear for crops

Quite astonishingly daft!

There was an IT "expert" on TV yesterday and apparently he has found an error in the software the Met Office has written to process its data and carry out predictions....

.....the error created means

Your like this....................

not!!!

apparently they have under estimated the amount of global warming in the future

Cool

Indeed, there is a story on BBC news today about a huge iceberg in the southern ocean which they say will could give us cold winters in the northern hemisphere for years to come.

It just shows there are so many variables in climate that they really don't know how it all works.

Looks like they have taken a leaf out of the NL book then. If something that does not suit them is announced, they say the exact opposite is happening!

No need for me to add anything further.

Dave
Well it's a nice diversion, not sure it adds too much to the debate though
Unless you think Goerbbels kept accurate temperature data
