lol whatever next..
Edited for accuracy.
Our Afghan Explorer tour takes you through the mountains and plains, following in the footsteps of Marco Polo. From Kabul and the foothills of the Hindu Kush, you will visit the extraordinary city of Herat, the famous mountain caves of Bamiyan, the historical northern towns of Mazar-i-Sharif and Balkh, climaxing in the famous Panjshir Valley. These places are largely unspoiled by the twentieth century, where there are few cars (by the roadside in pieces) and transport is often by horse or donkey (as they don't set off the roadside bombs).

It is a stunning country though - if you ignore the minor insurgency that's going on. ![Lol1](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/lol1.gif)
If and when the war is over (in our favour obviously!) - I'd quite like to go back as a tourist.

I dare say the country is beautiful, but I would never go now. Regardless how the war ends it will always be a serious risk to show your face. You only need to bump into one brother or father of a child killed by errant fire and you could be in a whole world of pain.
