Britain: POURED money into the banks, with no regulation attached about what it was to be used for, how much and at what level they should lend, and how much the bankers could pay themselves![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Came up with a "Car Scrappage Scheme", which, since we make haredly any cars ourselves, and have no actual large manufacturers any more, benefitted the foreign companies and their workers.
Infrastructure: all plans cancelled except the Olympic Village.
France: Poured money into the banks, but with STRICT regulations about how much needed to be lent, at what rate and haow much the bankers could pay themselves.
Have ignored the motorist and poured money into SIX new High Speed Rail Links, thereby ensuring that French workers and French companies benefitted...........and they end up with a rail infrastructure that is the envy of the rest of the world![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
New Labour saved the world? I think not.
