I love cats, and keeping them out of your garden is nigh on impossible.
They hate ginger and pepper but you would need a hell of a lot to cover your garden.

Prikka strips = Fail (it did deter fatty at first, but then he realised they weren't that sharp)
Ultrasonic sounder = Fail (looked at it, sniffed it, carried on - must be deaf).
Smelly stuff = fail (must have no sense of smell either)
Patterdale/black and tan cross terrier = Win![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Yup fatty cat not so fast with Rolly the dog gnawing on his tail![Lol](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/lol.gif)
I have also found out fatty doesn't even belong to my neighbours; they only feed the fat barstid (She's apparantly allergic to cats
). I now call her the mad cat woman.

I've had some success with a couple of ultrasonic sounders. They're battery opperated though so every month I have to replace the batteries (recharge them).
Like Ali we've got a woman next door that feeds the neighbours cats so they used to go home to have their proper meal, go over a couple of fences into our garden, have a poo, then over to mad woman for another meal.
Thing is, the people that own the 'twins' don't ever let them into the house, mad woman lets them in to her house though! Can't see the point of a pet you leave out all day and night and only feed it.
The sounders seem to have done the job, they don't stop them coming in but they scurry through rather than stop and poo. However, our front garden now seems to be the streets cat toilet.

is that you yanda (so many user names), if you fancy borrowing my 2 irish blue staffies, they just love nothing more than terrifying the crap out of cats that dare enter our garden. i remember 1 that sat on our shed roof once (looking all smug and clever), bobby our big lad ran down the garden and tried scrambling up and on top of the shed all police dog assault couse stylee. this cat let out a shreak translated roughly stating " S41t I AM GONNA DIE" and ran away pi55ing itself and has never been seen since .

One of the best ways to keep cats out of your garden is to sprinkle tiger poo around the perimeter. You only need a little bit. Zoos sell it to make some money - it is supposed to be very effective. There was at least one zoo selling it on ebay - not sure if they still do.

Yep, had the same problem; the the battlezone for a dozen cats that mark their territory on it.
Solved by removing everything from teh front garden; no bedding plants, no soil, nothing except turf and tarmac. Works; no stumps or bushes to p**s up and no gravel or soil to s**t in.![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Problem now is they p**s on the cars instead
