Say goodbye to bacon at KFC?!...
KFC diner told 'you can't have bacon in your burger here - we're now halal!' | Mail Online
So 86 out of 750 KFC's won't sell bacon and are halal meat only?!
Clearly we are heading to the point where pork will be off the menu at all mainstream restuarants... I love bacon so I'm not looking forward to this

its not that bad, see their statement.. KFC Restaurants United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland - Our Halal Trial
so there you are bacon is not too far away..
5. Why have you chosen my store?
We have chosen a small number of stores that are located within areas where we anticipate demand for a halal offer from KFC. However, we are committed to offering our customers choice and there is a non-trial restaurant in close proximity. The restaurant manager will be able to provide you with the address details should you need them.

Chicken is the blandest most dull meat known to man. So bland, one has to cook it in some fancy sauce/topping or coat it in some form of batter. Its a sin to eat it without some form of coating.
Pork or bacon on the other hand is superlicious. The only thing that makes chicken worth having is what they put with it (bacon bits ).
Any non-religion affiliated food outlet that denys pig meat in a western multicultrual society is doing the public a gross disservice IMO.
I've had the same problem at some Subways, and also the breakfasts at some Holiday Inn hotels (beef sausages, oh please, how rank can you get? )

I wouldnt go in one anyway but it seems a shame that Bacon isnt to be served, I suppose if a majority of the franchise holders are Muslim then it would happen, personally I am glad the Muslims dont eat bacon, I dont want to share it with them, there are loads of them, imagine if they decided Bacon was Halal !

Yep, I'm in the same boat. Funny how all the animal rights groups are scared to say anything about halal which is clearly inhumane. Suppose they don't want staff members being kidnapped and beheaded by that friendly lot who get a bit upset if anyone dares oppose them

It amazes me that a site dedicated to the chav chariot that is the Impreza holds such moral high grounds on such things as KFC and fast food in general.
I love KFC, I love Subway, I love a good ol' chinese! If that makes me common and uncouth then thats what I am!

If the title read "Say goodbye to bacon at Burger King" Then I probably would of cried, I need my weekly fixed of a Triple Whopper with bacon and cheese, it's 800 calories of yummyness.
KFC can kiss my hoop.

If an area is predominately Muslim, and they(KFC) make this move it's because they can potentially make more money.
I'm not going to go into all the opinions of Halal as it's not really the point. This is about making money, not being overly PC.

What has the PC brigade got to do with this one? And of course Muslims had something to with it, albeit they may not have cried on for KFC to go this way.

but they say that any halal branch has a non halal branch within proximity.
in your case stedee, the branch in headngley, leeds has gone halal.. the nearest non halal branch is the one in roundhay, leeds. not exactly far.
albeit i would have thought it should have been the other way around as more muslims in eadingley but i guess thats to do with competition.. and a lot of muslim takeaways there already.

I was unfortunate enough to taste what KFC call 'bacon' the other day. FFS, I dare say it had never been within a mile of a pig.
It tasted of a packet of Rashers crisps with extra salt.
I can't see the loss of alleged 'bacon' being missed in any fast food outlet.
Even as a huge fan of a bacon sarnie, I always choose the sausage and egg Mcmuffin when passing through the golden arches, simply as the 'bacon' does not taste like an bacon I've ever known.
So, yeah, get rid of the bacon if you must.
Just keep the sausage!

KFC are franchised, lot of the franchises owned by non bacon eaters, stafffed by non bacon eaters in areas of high non bacon eating population.
Only sensible i suppose from a business point of view, shame as bacon sarnies/bacon are part of the British way of life, or at least used to be...
Ironically, i no problem getting hold of pork and pork related products whilst working in Dubai as they where sold in nearly all the supermarkets and in most hotels/restaraunts. Same true in Oman and i am sure a lot of other Muslim countries

Oh well they stopped selling Chicken years ago and replaced it with a substitute so I'm sure they can do the same for the bacon.
KFC died years ago, its just fatty snot in breadcrumbs, back in the 80's it was good and so were the ribs

If you love bacon, then you'll not mind the fast food outlets not serving it: I don't recognise what they currently sell as Bacon....cardboard dipped in fat maybe?
