Help on choosing a mobile.
Within the next month my contract will be ended and Im looking to get a T mobile contract and phone.
My current phone is a Nokia n95 8gb which for the past year has served me well and I like the features it has.
I would like a phone which has a fast internet service, good video playback, a good camera and the ability to store applications which the n95 does.
Im looking to pay £35 a month, would like loads of minutes and texts and unlimited internet access.
What do you recomend?
Thanks.

Wait for the new iPhone which will hopefully be announced this summer to see what improvements that brings or, if you don't want to wait, go and try an HTC Desire. It does everything you want and a whole lot more. I had an N95 8GB (which I loved) and currently have an N97 (which I also like a lot) but the HTC Desire is the one I want now. T-Mobile are doing it on contract for around the £35 a month mark

lol, if he knew how to use google he wouldn't be on Scoobynet asking for phone advice, pmsl!
To the op, if you want a phone, review on a phone site might help more than here Unless you want the standard, Blackberry, iPhone or HTC discussion, (oh and me and my off-piste choice of palm, which I'm happy with) in which case just use the g'damned search facility, rotfl

IMO, the HTC is good, but because they release a phone every other week, you'd never have a current device.
My thinking behind this is that you sign up for an 18-24 month commitment, therefore get something that's going to last.
I was TRYING to get a HTC Touch Pro 2, but Voda shafted me/lied, so I told em to F/O.
I ended up with an iPhone - which tbh, I'd been fighting getting one since they first came out. No it doesn't do HALF of what my old N95 did, but it does sync perfectly with my Macs etc and works very well. Especially now it's Jailbroken - turned it into something like the phone it should have been imho.
It's a tough one - I wouldn't want to be looking for a phone right now tbh. I'd wait until the Summer - see what's coming out before you jump.
No matter what you choose, it will be wrong!!!LOL!!
Good luck,
Dan

Not yet, I'm resisting My contract doesn't expire until June so if I took out a new one with T-Mobile I'd be paying for two phones. I agree with you about the T-Mobile tarrifs, they seem very good. What's their coverage like these days?

There signal is OK, But it will dramatically increase. They are now officially the same company as Orange but still seperately branded. Within the next few months the two companys will combine to have one high street shop i believe.

Clicky right at bottom of page.
I've been on Orange for a few years and never have any coverage issues, Maxine has just gone to Voda and coverage is not great.
My eldest daughter is on T Mobile and reckons her signal is faultless, so I'm hopeful.
My Desire should arrive tomorrow, so I will let you know how it goes. I know its not going to have all the accessories that an iphone has but as a singular unit its supposed to be the best on the market at the moment.
BTW I've jumped a month early because Orange just don't want to know with existing customers, their tariff just doesn't compare with T Mobile.

What about a Blackberry, as others have suggested? You'll get one for £35 a month or less. I've just got the 8520 entry level Curve and that's more than enough for me.
Snazy is the man to ask about Blackberrys. Surprised he hasn't replied to this thread yet.

T Mobile on-line shop, go through the procedure as if you were going to buy the phone, there is a box where you put post codes in to see the coverage. The last post code you enter is guaranteed to give the coverage they state on the coverage chart. I reckon it says you have 7 days to return if your not happy with the coverage anyway.

I've gone for the T-Mobile contract even though my current contract doesn't end until June. I couldn't wait any longer Still, I managed a couple of hours since my last post
Hopefully the merger of Deutsche Telekom & France Telecom should make for a better coverage
