I heard today that friends of the earth are delighted with the grounding of planes over the past couple of days due to the volcano, as it has reduced the amount of CO2 produced by flights.
But errrm, dont volcano's churn out millions of tonnes of CO2 at a time when they blow?
I know one if natural, and one is man, but its surely a bit of a hollow victory?![Ponder2](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/ponder2.gif)
So thats the air quality knackered, a glacier vapourised and the landscape changed forever, and not a human in sight. Damned global warming, and man killing the planet!

I think they will only be happy when we're living like we did in the dark ages - literally.
Have you heard the conspiracy theory about the volcanic eruption being caused on purpose?

Yes I saw a Subaru covered in dust on the telly, so it must be true.
As for the pitiful comments about "saving" on man-made CO2 emissions VS a small volcano

Have they not noticed how cold it has been for quite a long time and also that scientists are now becoming concerned at the lack of sunspots in what should be a time of maximums and whether that will lead to a large reduction in the Earth's temperature, as happened in the late 18th century?

Im loving all the people on TV whining about how their flights were cancelled. If you wanna die, jump off a cliff, if you dont, have some patience.
No more stupid comments from the greenies yet though.
Les, I expected nothing less from them mate, was only a matter of time. If only someone would do a proper report NOW on what the planet is capable of doing to itself now, using the real time facts.

Snazy, the goverment will introduce VED "Volcanic Excise Duty", in a bid to educate consumers in choosing more efficient active Earth bound, lava spewing faults with a view to reducing spiralling Carbon emissions, or we will all have to pay more to offset the carbon already emitted by the Volcano.

We normally get dust on the cars during the warmer months after a few dry days from the pollen etc.
I haven't noticed anything different.
To put another slant on J4ckos comment, just tax Iceland.

I dont think it was meant to rain ash or anything, the notification was just to make people aware of a drop in air quality more than anything else. However some people are getting over excited about a bit of dust.
My advice, if you think its volcanic, be careful wiping the dust off the paint.
