Right, rather than go out and spend mucho dollah on a seperate device, I'm gonna take advantage of the built in GSP on my iPhone 3GS. I wanna buy a good SatNav app from the app. store but I'm unsure of what to get.
My requirements are simple really...
What has everyone else got?

The only thing that would bother me would be the volume, I'm just not sure it's loud enough, the Tom Tom car holder thingie solves this but it's £100 on top.

CoPilot live is awesome - I have full euro version and use it everyday.
I have also used tomtom on iPhone and prefer the copilot, at £26.99 worth every penny and you can get quidco back from the itunes store so thats a further 4% off the price

Go to Halfrauds or on line and buy a proper Tomtom, your almost there on price any way.
Remember the old adage "you only get what you pay for" (works most times)

Copilot on Techradar
TomTom on Techradar
For me £26 is a steal, £60 on the other hand is fast approaching a dedicated SatNav and quite frankly a rip off from TomTom since you are providing the hardware and they are only delivering by download so their actual costs are much lower than a physical device.
Finally this will help make your mind up, a side by side comparison of them both

So is it worth the £26? Definitely. Co-Pilot is so far the best sat-nav app we've seen for the iPhone. If you've not already got a navigation app or a standalone device it's an absolute snip (though the in-built GPS chip is not the finest for walking or cycling)
So what do we make of it? TomTom for iPhone is a fantastic navigation app, but we can't ignore the fact that the Co-Pilot Live 8 is less than half the price - and that was a very impressive app indeed. TomTom will appeal because of the name, but unless you're determined to spend £60, you might want to plump for the cheaper option.

That's because he's stolen the software, which makes him a thief. Not something to be proud of and I would hope he wouldn't want you telling everyone.

I'm looking at paying a little more than the cheapest and getting the CoPilot as it seems a very good app. with decent feeback (reviews being something I always look for when purchasing).

Don't forget to look at Navigon as well. It's not cheap but it may tick all your boxes. I've used it a couple of times and found it pretty accurate.

FWIW, TomTom on iPhone is rubbish. and FAR too expensive once you include the cradle as well.
For £25 you would be a FOOL not to look at Co-Pilot Live 8.
Imho, it's better than than TomTom. And for the money, can't be beaten. Speed cams/limits are all up-datable too. And the sound is very loud.
Fantastic package. The *only* picky thing is the lack of integration to the iphone qwerty keyboard (got its own proprietary system)

Gotta be worth a punt.

Gotta agree. £25 is the BARGAIN of the Century.
Granted, I had it on Wifey's Android phone as a free download, and yes, it was shyte. But in all fairness, it was a early version.
Chucked "8" on my iphone, and it quite happily navigated me home from the ar$e-end of Bristol back up to the countryside of North Herefordshire.
Sweet.

I have Co-Pilot on my Iphone and it seems to take ages to get a fix, and gets stuck on determining satellite position which makes it unusable. I'm not saying it's a bad bit of software just that the GPS in the Iphone is probably to blame.

I've used CoPilot and Tomtom and CoPilot got the routes wrong on every one I put in to test on local journeys
Was going to take me miles out of my way every time so was useless in my opinion even though 'pretty' graphics to look at. Tomtom was more accurate in getting the routes correct although by no means perfect.

Ive got to add my 2p's worth...
Ive got both Tom Tom and Copilot on my phone and have to say after using TomTom initially I found it tended to take you in the wrong direction and when using it recently it just ended the route 3 miles before the right destination!!!
I found that Copilot is reliable and has every feature that TomTom does and is very easy to use.

I think tom tom on the iPhone is so overpriced and the trouble is it's just too small maybe I'm An old git and eyes are fading
that's. Why I personally would go out and get a tom tom. Xl for the bigger screen for around about £119 as it's better if you use it a lot
Co pilot seems good for the money though but when you are lost And driving
Get a big screen

I was looking at the NDrive satnav for my iphone, it has great reviews, but with the rubbish volume from the phone, i'm not sure if its worth a punt.
There's no way i'd pay £100 for a cradle, you can get a good tomtom for that (which i have anyway)
Does anyone use iphone satnav without the cradle and be able to hear it at motorway speeds?

The iPhone speaker is slightly louder so I don't think i'll struggle too much.
For the record, I bought this off eBay to hold/charge the phone whilst driving - bargain
