I read an interesting statistic in yesterdays Telegraph. Super unleaded prices are up 27% in a year. No wonder my phone nearly melted the other day when I put up one of my GT TDIs for sale during the week. I sold it within 48 hours and took over a dozen calls for it.

Most of the rise is down to the exchange rate and the fuel companies putting the prices up
And anyway where in any party manifesto is a pledge to do soemthing about petrol prices?
So you can give Labour a bloody nose all you like and put the Tories in who will do nothing about it either. Then in 2015 you can give them a bloody nose too.
We're f**ked!!

I would agree, if it were not for the fact that the last time i said that, it came down a few weeks later

I sold the tdi and was thinking about a Forester or even a my00 classic Impreza, think I'll leave it TBH. I don't do masses of mileage but I think I'd just get a bit peed off paying the best of £70 for around 250 miles.
The thinking that taxes will come down on fuel is a pipedream to be honest. The trend will be for better and better mpg.

Just wait until the price barrel of oil rises!
It's about $80 now.......if it goes to $150 again, like it did 2 years ago, things should get interesting.

Why would any governemt want cheaper petrol???? the higher the price the more they make out of tax and the more they can say were out of recession as the retail spending has gone up by 0.3%....Are they so unbeliveably arrogant that they think we dont understand???
A 27% increase in price in the last 12 months and the retail spending goes up by less than 1%!!! Hmmmmmmmm let me think....YEP WE ARE FECKED!!!!!
