Default Gene Hunt in the 90's and 00's

Ok so I was thinking as I drove home from work today, what car would Gene Hunt drive if they made a series in the 90's or the 00's, not that they would as it would be sŁ$%te but the cars would be interesting.
So whats your views?

I was thinking E36 M3 for the 90's not sure about the turn of the century though?

90s - another vote for a Cosworth, dont know why but i see him in a Sapphire.
00s - a P1 or an Evo VI.

Sticking with cop cars, surely a Volvo T5R in the 90's. Scoob or Evo in the 00's.
