Anyone else had the pleasure to watch this film?
Talk about messing with your head.
The question is:
Is he a fruit loop or not?

I read the book several years ago (I love all dennis lehane's stuff) but haven't seen the film yet. I don't know how faithful the movie is to the book, but the twist is very well hidden in the book. I think the ending is intentionally ambiguous - has he regressed or has he just decided he can't live with the knowledge of what he has done?

Watched it last night and didn't really like it. Thought it was clumsy and just went though the motions. No real emotional attachment to the main character and the ending was predictable for this genre.

I thought it was brilliant! I didn't have a clue what it was about before I watching it, it was just a random one I watched......
I didn't see the twist or anything until late on in the movie.
So is there actually a 'he was mental' or not....or is it up to yourself to decided?

I think the whole story imo was a double twist!! The first big twist being that he was shown to be 'mental' and then at the very end that he was 'not mental' and actually outsmarting the warden etc.
I thought this was a fantastic film and very thought provoking!! Cant understand the ones that said it was rubbish

It certainly was not rubbish .
It is thought provoking - Is he or isin't he ?
What is rubbish is STAR WARS tripe turned out by George ( How can I milk anymore out of this saga) Lucas.
What is rubbish is the ******* Harry Potter tripe ( unless you happen to be 12)- and as for that ginger kid -I suppose he is a ginger bloke now -aaaaaaaaaaah. I could do time for him.
I ******* hated Lord of the Rings also - more tripe. What was it with the big hairy feet ?
What is absolutely the worst cinematic experience is anything from India in fact anything from the middle east or Asia.
The yanks produce thousands of movies a year - a handful are worth watching. Sometimes they produce some magic though.
Indian films are the worst - Oh I've already mentioned that . Bolly ******* wood ha ha
Its terrible. no its ******* terrible.
Ireland , and Scotland produce some little gems . AND England does as well of course.
AND Indian movies they are soooooooooo bad .
They make great curry though .
