Right on Les!
The answer is DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!!!
They are part of the great DSGi Group of Companies - who treat customers worse than you treat a lump of dog turd stuck to your shoe!
I had to take them to court over a faulty Plasma TV - they refused to fix it, or change it or refund and treated me shambolically (is that a word?).
I repeat, DO NOT BUY FROM CURRYS, DIXONS, PIXMANIA or PCWORLD!!

Pixmania = DSGi
In other words, PCworld, Dixons, Currys, Partmaster, MacWarehouse ; Its all the SAME company. The stuff ordered on line probably comes from the same distribution warehouse.
Just make sure its in stock (check on the phone if need be), and jobs a good'un. Just don't expect super duper aftersales support.
Mate got diddled about with a TV he purchased that was out of stock, then discontinued. Anyone else would have took the refund offered or accepted their given alternative; But oh no, he (the pedantic **** geek he is) read the small print where it states they must offer a equal specification equivelent of the original product. This they did not do, emails and calls went back and forth and a month later he was in possession of a TV that was actually superior to the one he ordered and it was a good deal cheaper than anywhere else he has seen it. Lucky git!

Ali-b - is spot on
You just got to remember that these places are really just warehouse with online sales. The have minimal customer support and very little staff to deal with returns. That is why they are cheap. I ONLY order if they are showing stock - otherwise you can end up waiting a long time with very little info.
Pixmania is pretty reliable.
Use physical stores to check exactly what you want (eg John Lewis) and then use these places to get it cheap. Remember there is a big advantage to online stores - distance selling. This means (barring a few scenarios) you can simply decide you don't like it and send it back within 7 days.

Pontificating
Used them once for a Sony HDD DVD player about 6 years ago, about 100 quid cheaper than anywhere else, back in the days when they were about 400 quid a go, yes it was french and I had to change the plug and download a manual, but it's still going strong and still a better picture than the Pioneer I bought here.
No complaints.
I'm impressed with Paul's Amazon story

I have just spent alot of time over the last two days in richer sounds and their service has been very good. Only one guy seemed to be trying to sell stuff the rest were just helpful. I was getting a 1080p projectror, screen, reciever and all the cables to integrate it into my lap-top, x-box and existing flat screen. They spent alot of time explaining about throw ratios positioning and made it much easier for me to get the job done. I would highly reccomend them for customer service.
