The Conservatives only did what had to be done (class warriors take note). If the Liberals win theyll have to make cuts thatll make Margaret Thatcher look like she was mildy tightening her belt.

Will we then have a generation of apoplectic 'Clegg-haters'?

Honesty - They plan to let up to 1m illegals get UK passports. Amnesty for up to 1m illegal immigrants - how is this going to help the recovery when the passports handed out?

If when the votes are cast the results are exactly as the polls are suggesting now, will thta mean Cameron will be prime minister? Will it be enough to get rid of Brown?

It doesn't bear thinking about really does it?

Brown, Cameron or Clegg???

3 greedy self serving career politicians who spout about honesty and integrity yet wouldn't know the meaning of the word.

Why oh why can't we have just one proper leader who wants genuine good for the country?

Great choice.

Unfortunately, being a greedy, self serving deceitful **** is a prerequisite of becoming a politician . There isn't one I'd want to share a table with.

Yeah - but wasn't that something like you had to prove you'd been here for 10 years or more via utility bills and the likes?

And OK the "more honest" comment was moreso directed at cost savings and increased/hidden taxes

Having entered illegally how and why would 'they' have utility bills/keep paperwork for 10 years often living in shared housing and paying rent to a landord - cash in hand

Depends on the level of proof that the government will want to see. They may have bank statements to show the payments that were needed to get them into the country. Then they may have accounts over here that they have been able to access (maybe in their name or now).

Personally I don't think this is a big issue. The biggest issue is stopping them getting here in the first place. Once they are hear its going to be so much harder and expensive to catch them than when they are at the ports.

I would rather they worked legally paying taxes, than staying under the radar and working cash in hand. After all, the real cost of immigrants are those on benefits....and they ARE registered already.

and nobody after 2010 , thats now right , is allowed in under the proposed shake up

...i can really see how this is going to encourage others to roll up

What does grate is that on issue of a passport they will be entitled to JSA other benefits including housing, including use of the NHS, etc.

Consider that these illegals got here illegally, worked illegally and can then become 'British' citizens despite breaking our laws. What messages does this send back to the countries that the illegals come from then? Do you think this will hlep reduce the numbers coming here???

Get the long-term unemployed and lifestyle out of work back to work first before letting in EU and no EU immigrants - if we have the jobs for them.

Remember an illegal working for min or under wage (illegally) and then suddenly needing to contribute to NI and tax + thier employers doing the same, i wonder just how many will suddenly become unemployed.

Illegal workers working have helped undercut proper companies ane employees , who pay tax and NI and a legal wage and in some cases pushed out legal workers and companies - it is all wrong!

Whilst its a nice idea to see these long term scroungers employed and making well
its unlikley to happen ( if you were to give them the option ,overnight )

I suspect the people that roll up here from all points are the 'intelligent' ones in fact id put money on it.

You just seem happy to forget the came illegally and likely worked illegally whilst here with all theeffects that has. You seem happy to blissfully ignore the effects it could have on health, housing, benefits, etc even though we need to be making cuts.
And still no answer as to how this will help/make things better, oh well.

Managing to get long term unemployed back to work in the states despite the weak minded liberals and lefties wringing their hands at the HR violations - and it worked

I love it - people believe Clegg's 'honesty' when he's able to peddle any lie he likes as he's confident he won't have to deliver on any of them. Complete cobblers full of inane promises to the weak minded. If I believed in God I'd ask him to help us!

Yes exactly, so in my book that means no proof, OK then **** off
Maybe its just me that sees this as a slightly devious way of deporting illegals
How it would work in principal is another entirely different matter.

No, not really, any illegals caught are released back into society and asked to report regularly to the Police - guess what - some do not do so, who would have thought it.

asking people to prove they have been here 10 years - well they might keep records, they will not have bank ststements, ni or tax to prove this though so how will they do so and how many who have not been here 10 years will fake it to get a passport - lib dims likely to let morte people who are not entitled to stay, stay.
