i have just got a set of cheapo golf clubs off ebay, just to have ago knocking around the field with , nothing special, its more so if i do like it or start playing i wont embarasss myself,
the thing is although im left handed,
my pc mouse is on my right, i hold the knife and fork right handed,
the only thing i do left handed is answer the phone and right
ive been pacing up and down the living room and i think i might prefer to play with right handed clubs, rather than left handed, is this unuusal or does it happen alot.
am i best doing whatever feels the most comfortable. or shoud i persevere with my left hand.
ps any other tips greatly appreciated

I'm right handed but some days i think I might play better left handed ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
on a serious note IMHO the golf swing us such a complex sequence that it probably doesn't matter what hand you use, just the one that feels most comfortable.
What I would say is if you have just strarted no matter what hand you use you will duff it a lot. Golf is about practice, lesson, practice, lesson, practice, lesson etc for at least the first year.
I have been playing years, currently playing well off 12 but still duff the odd shot.

I'm left handed but play golf right handed and play the drums left handed.
I'd try both a left and right handed club to see what you fell most comfortable with.

no one like a show off.
![Lol](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/lol.gif)
I think if you've never played before and do most things with the right hand you'll find learning right handed the better option... plus there are more stuff out there for the right handed than left.
I'm a r/h golfer but carry my bag over the left shoulder.... so I need a left handed golf bag.
THERE ARE ONLY TWO COMPANIES who do L/H golf carry bags.. Izzo and sun Mountain!
so much choice! Not!

As said above, Mickelson is a natural right-hander and doesn't do a bad job as a lefty. Go with whatever feels comfortable

got down to 9 point something and got a major mental block, pretty much forgot how to hit the ball and spent 12 months thinning it. got bored and decided to knock it on the head. my swing fell apart, couldnt put a round together for 12 months, lots of stress coming in from work and personal life so couldnt enjoy it mate.

lol, i do that in the bar afterwards. no internet needed

i don't know if it's still going, but a guy at the club used to use a site where you put in your comp scores in and they 'competed' against pro events going on at the same time.
you virtually took part on the leaderboard based on your score and got a ranking on the site. he ended up winning a golfing holiday in Texas

as for the topic, i'm a leftie and play right handed. oddly i can putt a bit better left handed
![Confused](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/confused.gif)
all over the shop though, snooker left handed, squash right handed. never really tried the other way round, i just went with what felt more natural

our GC use Howdidido, you register and when you play and input your score card on the computer when you come back to the club house, a few days later you get an email to what position you came and the new handicap you're off.

Both Mickelson and Watson are 'opposite' handed players, so it's obviously no handicap! (no pun intended)
Your leading arm should be your strongest anyway, so everyone should play the 'wrong' way round, but it can feel so spacky.
RH clubs will be cheaper too.

Sorry to hear that

I've been through something similar with mental blocks in golf and it is awful and so hard to break out of. At the time I had no choice because it was my job and I had to work through it, I just couldnt feel a backswing and I still struggle with it now. Maybe a break away will do you good and you'll come back better than before.
Hope you get everything, on course and off sorted
