Default Good luck to David from all at Scoobynet!

I'm sure everybody on Scoobynet would like to join me in wishing David Cameron the very best of luck.

He is the only hope the UK has of avoiding complete financial and social meltdown.

It is no way certain that he will get a majority but for the sake of the country I love I hope he does.

If he is in a position to form a government my good wife and I shall be celebrating (though I know there is pain to come) with a chilled bottle of Krug that we've been saving for a special occasion.

How will you celebrate?

If he doesn't win then it will be the only time in history that an opposition didn't win given the most dire of economic situations ......

He should resign if the Tories do not get a landslide ....

here here to the man with a plan, then maybe he can put the labour voters away for help for a few months as they obviously must need a little mental adjustment.

Whoever gets in this time will be out of office for an entire generation.

So I echo the OP's sentiments wholeheartedly.

I took a leaf out of the NL Tower Hamlets voting guide, registered 20 or so 'family' to my address and am now just putting the finishing touches on the disguises

what plan? Paxman ripped him apart when he started asking about details. Cameron hasn't got a clue what to do at all.

Possibly not but then he is just the frontman. The guy we should be focusing on is Osbourne as he is likely to be chancellor and its the chancellor that will make or break the next government. I dare say they will wheel old Ken Clark out to hold the boys hand.

Interestingly the LibDem shadow chancellor is Vince Cable* who does actually have previous dealing with the financial affairs of large business.

* For those that don't know Vince Cable was the guy that stood up in parliament and pointed out that the credit gravy train would eventually end and was booed and laughed at by both blue and red alike.

Factually incorrect as always Pete. Major stayed in power even with a recession under way. Yes this time the economic downturn is worse, but that's because Labour has been at the helm.

Flightman, that's for regurgitating that line that's been spouted all week, very original LOL.

Er and the small matter of the rest of the world has been in recession.... why do you always seem to forget that?

I don't forget that, but we are in such a bad way because Labour spent everything we had. If they hadn't we would still be in recession but not in the dire situation that we are. Surely you can't deny that?

He got my vote. Thanks to all the threads on here, rather than the tv debates, my mind was made up and I did not spoil my vote.
Thanks all

Yes you can.

Who is to say that if they hadn't spent that money then an economy on its knees wouldn't have gone under completely?

I think the statement "you can't cut your way out of recession" was a right one.

Cameron (and Edd i take your point but really he should know where he is going to make the 11bn of savings he's promised) is asking turkeys to vote for christmas. Right now the public sectoremploys a vast majority of people in this country. If Cameron makes a huge proportion redundant they'll be on benefits, not paying tax and not spending money in the shops. He doesn't even know where he'll make the cuts!!!

Also Cameron annoys the hell out of me with his care for the elderly bit. Utter rubbish.

5t.

I am not denying that Labour have not helped in no small way, but surely you can see how so many posts on here almost imply that it is ALL Gordon Brown's fault.

We should not forget that a prevous government did a pretty good job of asset stripping the country (nationalised industries, oil, ERM) and we are about to vote that party back in.

We have also suffered more due to our economy's reliance on the financial services sector (and don't get me started on why that is).

I suppose I am conerned at the blind faith everyone here has in Cameron when none of his shadow cabainet have ever served in a government and the last time they were in power they didn't do such a great job ether. I wish to goodness they had Ken Clarke waiting to be chancellor .... that to me is a no brainer and the fact they don't is the sort of thing that concerns me.

Same s**t, different party I reckon.

As I haven't been on here for a few days I wouldn't know that would I?

Two points for you.

1. There is no harm in repeating something if it's worth saying again.
2. Go and boil your head you ****.

1)How about just repeating rumours you've heard on the news?

2) There is no reason to speak to me like that. Much like your beloved leader you insult anybody that doesn't agree with you
