The council has kept the exact location secret. Still, I'll take a stroll down there tomorrow for a look![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)

Great find, another piece of history re-discovered. There's a mummified forest round where I grew up that used to surface and disappear on a regular basis, all to do with tides and shifting sands

Not likely though, he has quite a reputation as a prolific and gentle, even caring lover in the sheparding community and even likes to turn them over and kiss 'em - Baaaaah!

My old dive club lifted the wings and engines from a Beaufort in the 70's, H+S would have a field day with how it was done!! ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

The local council won't reveal the precise location to protect the plane - designed in 1937 - and because it may be carrying high-octane fuel.

I think the fuel might be safe now

I like the way they say their keeping the location secret then give the details of the flight so you can identify the landmarks so know where to look!

They dragged a Wellington out of a fiord and managed to do an amazing rebuild of the geodetic fuselage sections. It is in the Brooklands Air Museum which is well worth a visit. You can even sit in a Harrier and wonder how on earth they can operate it with all that kit on, to say it is cramped is an understatement! They have got a Concorde there which looks like like new! You can also walk on the famous Brooklands racing track-or what is left of it.
Hope they can set the P38 up like that too.
