Why does the image on the screen still stay on? you'd have thought it would turn itself off after a short while.
The mute switch looked a bit ropey as well, half of it slid up (diagonally).
Still, it looks a bit more modern with the crisp edges.

It's alleged to be a higher screen resolution so people are suggesting it's going to be called iPhone HD rather than 4G as that could be confusing as there is a 4G network in the US.
No-one is sure how close to final production these things are, so some of the polish that is missing is probably going to be addressed.
No confirmation of a release date as yet. Rumors are for WWDC (June 7-11), but you'd have thought it'd launch with OS 4, which is still in beta (probably another SDK today or next thursday), to show off the multi-tasking and new features it brings. The June timeframe is close to other release time frames of previous phones.

The A4 chip is the big thing for me. shaping up well if the rumours are to be true. I can get a new phone at the end of the year so with BB OS6 out, the HTC offerings and the potential new iphone I should have some nice choices.

My missus went out to get a new Phone, I said she could get whatever she wanted and I wouldnt prompt her or try to be a cheapskate, said she could get an Iphone if that is what she wanted as she had been eyeing her mates ones up and her Samsung Soul was looking a bit pathetic, she came back having ordered a HTC Desire, its on back order as there is no stock, she could have come home with a 3GS the same day but preffered the HTC, I didnt mention it to her as normally she says she doesnt want a geeky phone you need a degree to operate like I get (Nokia N series etc).
I was surprised at this turn of events, so it seems to me that HTC may be cutting into the Iphones market, i.e. the none techies, people who read Heat magazine !
For that reason, im out

i've got a desire, much better than my sisters iphone, loads of apps, no restrictions as far as connecting to other phones via bluetooth etc etc,
only downside is battery life, which is shocking on it if you do anything but use it as a phone

That's what I love about the BB 9700. I can go 4 days between charges. Never panic about if I've put enough juice in the battery to last the day and that's with wifi and GPS on all the time.
