I have a mains water shower, never had any issues with it, and it has more pressure than any power shower I have used.

The added bonus of pretty much silent operation and the lack of electricity in the bathroom.

We're running two showers from our combi, one Aqualisa. Direct feeds to both from the boiler hot water feed. I guess it all depends on your mains pressure, ours is great so we can run both showers at the same time.

Power shower my good man - all the way
And one of those Aqualisa digital quartz boys with a remote start and a boost button
But get a bigger hot water storage tank if your missus takes ages showering

Yep aqualisa are cool Mira are the daddies, You may need a tank if the powershower is mega powerfull. BUT dont gauge it from the electric showers cos some of them cant wash the soap from ya hair there so crap.

Combi boiler and a Mira 415 valve will excel in anything

I can't answer this, but I'm intrigued to know what your next "What house/sofa/shower/bathroom scales/copy of Which? magazine/Hi-Fi" thread will be

Why would you want a power shower if your water is @ mains pressure?

Surely just a regulator will suffice?

I thought a power shower was one that was running at mains pressure The only other type of shower I know of is the electric shower. They are generally pants as they cannot heat up the water fast enough so the flow is very low.

I know how shower is called a "power shower". Its water passes through the boiler to be heated on demand, and then goes to the shower. The water feed is from the cold pipe, so in theory you could drink the hot water produced (afaik).

What's the difference between:

Power Shower - Has own heating element no pump - mains or tank pressure. Low flow.

Powered Shower - Uses hot & cold water from tank then pumped at pressure to a mixer. High Flow

Mains fed - Using a combi boiler - through a mixer / tap juggling (no pump required). High flow.

We are on well water and the water is pumped into the house roof tank with a bore hole pump controlled by float switches in parallel.

The water pressure is pretty low from the roof tank so I designed a system using a power shower pump to pressurise the entire water system for the house. The roof tank feeds into the power shower pump inlet. We also have a combi and the pressure is adequate for that. The pump operates automatically via a flow sensor as soon as you draw any water in the house. The shower works very well indeed. You only have to get used to not turning the cold water tap on too rapidly to avoid splashing.
