There is a tree near to where we live that for years has had shoes chucked at it

So one day was clearing out the house and came across some old shoes of mine. Got the kids to help me chuck mine up in the tree to help with this quaint old custom

From the PDF its obvious that there were a lot of shoes up there.... so I would say the local kids have added to it etc - but if I were a betting man (which I am not) I would say the first pair were put up there by someone selling drugs.

Been happening round these parts for 20 years, and still is. The council take them down but they are back up within hours, if not seconds of them driving off.

exactly bob !! it may be the thing to do around billy's estates but here in leafy bucks where the trees are abundent and people are pleasant, this strikes me as more of an 'oddball' thing to do. I just felt as a local I should join in

there is however, a lot of grass around here
