The vast majority of Eastenders audience bought their Technika HD TV's from Tescos and have the SkyHD box wired up via composite, so its really not worth it.

I read that the current(ancient) set is in too poor condition to film it in HD. The fake bricks and paint peeling off the wals would be too obvious in HD.
They were going to move to a new set at a new location but that's fallen through and they've signed a new contract at the existing studio so who knows when they'll go HD.
Not bothered either way myself

I could believe that. I remember seeing a program about HD many years ago when it was all in development, and there was a film-maker saying how the budget would go through the roof as the sets would have to be massively higher quality. Fake bricks, painted carpets, cardboard cut-outs etc will stand out like a sore thumb ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
