Washing Machine Question

Weird one this .... water doesn't drain out (but there's not much water in there, seems it's not filling up to the level it once did?).
Took the hoses off to the pump and blew them through .... no blockage. Watch the pump vane spinning, put resistance on the vane and there is plenty of torque.
So, pump working ... no blockage ... yet still water in machine?
Could it 'think' it's empty - yet isn't? And how do I check that?
Cheers

Cheers ..... but I blow out the tube from the pump (the one which goes to the outside world) no blockage according to the blow test.
Was wondering if, somehow, it thinks it has emptied? I wonder about this as it seems to take in less water than it used to (ie. thinking it is fuller than it is)?
Or am I just going potty?

i had a similar issue with ours, after we moved house earlier this year
and I was sure their was no blockage in the filter / pipes etc etc
it was only when in exasperation I tugged it outside (the washing machine that is)
and put a high pressure hose into the inlet / outlet holes -- and boy what a lot of **** came out (we live in a hard water zone)
obviously the move had dislodged a lot of crap inside the machine
once done - sorted
and I earned a BJ token from the wife - double sorted

Most washers have a small vacuum tube, usually around 5 or 6mm diameter, connected from the fill-level detector to the door-switch, and another similar one running from the detector to the bottom of the drum. If either these gets blocked with gunk it can cause the symptoms you've got, so worth blowing or cleaning out and seeing if it helps.
