Unhappy Heads Up - Last time that the Quattro will be fired up

So will Hunt be a good guy or turn out to be a wrong 'un?

I've actually just found out that this show is worth watching. Going to have to start and watch it from the beginning now....nothing like being a little slow to catch on eh?

I assume the railway arms is some sort of heaven with Gene as a god like character (good guy) and Keates was the face of the devil and the lifts were the entry to hell?

Yeah that's the way I see it. I think they were all already dead and they were in limbo before they went to heaven. i think.

Is it confirmed it is the last ever? I thought the bottle of whiskey and the Mercedes manual on his desk left it open?

Still doesn't explain Sam Tyler

hang on yes it does, but doesn't!!!

Sam wasn't dead first time around, so wouldn't have needed the pub.

Or why would he need to disappear..??

still left unanswered questions

Sam Tyler was a bit of a mystery still. I am a bit rusty on the previous series but did he not come back to reality during a train heist, only to jump off a building and enter gene's world to save the day?
If this is the last ever in the series they better put something else on to justify the licence fee.

SPOILERS

It was implied on a number of occasions that Lenny from the Railway Arms knew who or what Sam Tyler was in Life On Mars.

Keats appeared to help the undercover copper woman to die but seemed to help her. It became more sinister like he was Death himself when he clearly killed Viv just by touching him.

Sam decided it was time to go (even though he chose to go back) hence his last words to Gene.

Fantastic program. Felt sad that it was the last. Think more might risk spoiling it.

I would also recommend the US version of Life on Mars. It got canned halfway through production so the ending is a bit ropey but irrespective of the slating it received (the Us didn't understand it and the UK are just snobs) Harvey Keitel does a good yank Gene Hunt.

Didn't some bloke jump off a roof in an earlier series? Or wasn't that Sam Tyler.

The US version was quite good apart from the ending -- which was just ridiculous. I was very disappointed.

Yeah, great ending! It all makes a bit more sense now lol! Think I will dig the Life on Mars box set out and get the Ashes to Ashes one and start from the beggining again now, think now you know what is actually going on it will enhance the story lines and it will be interesting to see what clues are given that I won't have picked up on before

Agreed. Most wimmins would hate him, yet we don't.... Not sure what it is, but great character.

I will admit to getting quite emotional watching the last episode.

Funnily enough just watched them all again myself. Top TV.

Two cars were used through the run of the series, the original, and a stunt car that was acquired for series 2. Both portrayed the same car.

The stunt car was written off for the jump in series 3, episode 1 by the director of that episode and used as a parts and interior shots car until it was shot up in the finale, leaving the original intact

That is it I believe. Both series were very good.

I still can't forgive the Americans for finishing 'Life on Mars' in such a stupid, stupid way.
