Default Does a HDMI cable replace Scart ??

As above, Do you not need to use the scart leads if your upgrading to HDMI leads? I'm only using a Sky HD box and PS3

You won't get HD with scart and if connecting to a suitable amp you will also get the new HD audio from blue rays

Cool, so one assumes that the installers of Virgin HD or Sky HD would therefore use HDMI leads ?

As said above it will come with hdmi lead. Unlike scart cheapo leads work just as well as expensive ones as it all digital.

One thing I cant work out with the new TV it says its got Free View HD but how can it come down the aerial cable in HD, It don't list any HD channels either, only if I view it through sky but i haven't got the sky HD box come through yet.

They might not be broadcasting Freeview HD in your area yet, only about 50% coverage so far.

Freeview HD may not be in your area yet mate, give it time. As to how its comes down the ariel, it does so exactly the same as any other TV signal, its just at a higher bandwidth. With more areas getting the standard tv signal switched off more and more areas will go Freeview HD due to the freed up bandwidth.

I could possiblely be talking complete rubbish thou.

No, you're about right. Emley Moor up here in Yorkshire is undergoing upgrade work right now, meaning we keep losing channels here and there. My Dad hasn't even got C5 yet, let alone Freeview as he relies on a local sub-transmitter which is amongst the last in the country scheduled for upgrade.

it is a strange film, i watched it with low expectations and thought it was utterly brilliant! Can't wait for the next one. As much as i hate the film itself, Transformers 2 on HD is rather loverly.

Don't think your dad is missing much though.
