Planning permission versus a covenant
I'm after a bit of information about planning permission in regard to covenants. I own 2 houses next to each other that have a shared garden through a covenant in the deeds. The covenant dates back several decades, so I'm sure the persons involved in making the covenant are deceased.
Basically I wish to transfer land ownership to 1 property and to put up an extension to that property. The other property would be left with a greatly reduced piece of land. I'd want to sell this property in the near future.
Would this process be somewhat simplified as I own both properties and the covenant 'founders' are no longer about? I've done some basic research and it seems to be an area rammed with technical jargon. Some layman advice about how to tackle this would be grateful before I start spending some cash. Ta.

I would have thought that the covenant depends on both of the owners and since that is you, it should be possible to cancel it. That is with no special knowledge, just common sense-worth asking a solicitor I would say.
