For me as a "user", the only thing that is better on the blackberry is the battery life.

Call me a little old fashioned by I like my phones to be good at making and recieving phonecalls which is why i'd never own a ****ty Iphone.

To be fair to Jack, he is just reporting or relaying information that is quite common knowledge in the IT world, albeit with a slight fanboy edge

It is, but a drop in the ocean, compared to the huge market share and corporate installed base and whilst the news must be heartwarming to Apple, it is a huge mountain to climb for them to even make a dent in the grip that RIM has.

When Apple says they have an 80% penetration in the top 100 fortune companies that may be commendable for what is essentially a new player, but that 100 fortune list is still small peanuts.

It's a step in the right direction though Swiss, that's for sure, as I'm constantly told 'Choice' is best and the Blackberry has been the default for too long. If they don't step up their game they're the next Palm.

My ****ty iPhone makes calls just great, well, that's what the bill tells me. Also does other great things that I'm sure I don't need to bleat about.

Brings a smile when I read a post like that and almost makes me feel sorry for such a luddite.... Blackberry (wife has one) iPhone (I have one) both brilliant, blackberry has helped my wife run her business 1000 times more efficiently, almost as revolutionary as when I bought her a tom tom and she couldn't see the need (she drives 40k a year visiting mostly new customers and has found tom tom a total asset, as you can no doubt imagine).

As for me, I have a free works nokia 6730 and can honestly say I have never switched it on in the last 4 months as it seems prehistoric, clunky and irrelevant post iPhone

will never go to jackclark lengths of defending it or shouting from rooftops but it still makes me laugh when I hear people slating the new breed of phones....

my employer (652 staff) offers the iPhone or blackberry to the staff that travel the most, took them a while to address encryption issues etc with the iPhone but all now sorted and running well
