As it was only recently that the true meaning of "Rock 'n Roll" was explained to me. Sex.

Apparently it was a common black blues expression way back in the '30s but not generally known to white music listeners in the US until a black DJ started using the expression on a late night radio show with a mixed audience (after the show's producer had left the studio)

So am I completely out of touch with the meanings of expressions of today?

neither is a concatenation of not either - opposite of either. where either is one or the other, neither is none of 'em.
