Default Bad Ebay experience.

Been on Ebay since 2003 and in that time had 2-3 bad trades.
This is one.

Bought some STI rear lights.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=170501259818

Arrived today and unpacked them, and straight away could smell something bad.
The lights were full of water, and the holders had been bonded on badly, the bulb holders also are rusty and bulbs covered in bond.

So I contacted the seller and said the lights weren`t as described, and said that due to the fact they need repair they weren`t worth the price I paid. And he stated it was my fault for not looking at the picture, and all Scooby lights leak. He offered me £10 refund and he doesn`t do returns.

So I have opened an Ebay dispute, and left some nice feedback

WHY CAN`T PEOPLE BE HONEST ANYMORE???

Here are some pics, one from the listing, and others from today.
I`ve managed to clear a lot of water out, but still has some inside, also some of the staining has gone as the water has gone over them, so will re appear when dry.

This is the only pic in the advert.

The lights don`t look too bad now, but they look awful when dry.

Offered partial or full refund which was declined what can i do ?
i have had parts from them before and never had a problem apart from sometimes slow delivery which is irrelevant, as the price you paid you would want them mint for £150, you have done right getting onto ebay about it as although the lenses are not broken the bulb holders don't look to clever.

Carlisle ??

It's a small place and most people know someone who owns a scoob, I know as I work there LOL

I'll post this link on the Cumbrianscoob website and see what happens.

JDMotorsport is not a name I recognise from the carlilse area though and I've lived here nearly 10 years

HTH

Dont do anything to them.

Put them back in the box and request his user details from ebay.

Send them back recorded and keep hold of the tracking number.

Open a paypal dispute and give them all of the details you have posted above, also upload the pictures and add the links to prove why they are not as described. Add the tracking number to prove you have returned the item.

you WILL receive a full refund for a "item not as described".

I'm getting very sick of these people on ebay, I have just won 2 not as described cases in the past few days. (not with this particular seller).

They just hope that you will sit and do nothing.. probably most people do.

Best of luck.

I love the way almost every item he sells is listed as from an STI RA... Such as sideskirts, silver doors, and my favourite, the "STI RA lexus style rear lights"

If he is a member on here then poor show, he accused me of being a conman and said.

"I am assuming this is something you do all the time as in my 10 years on auctions i know the signs on a con man wanting something for nothing.
I never mentioned any money for a refund (he offered £10 what a joke), and the comments he made really pi$$ed me off. I have told him to stick his refund, as no doubt he`ll sell them onto some other unsuspecting member, and that my negative feedback will be removed. I`ve decided I can make a good set from these with a set of standard lights I have, and that the feedback left will do more harm to him than to hit my pocket (as I`ll take it as a lesson learnt).

If I had have sent them back and accepted his refund I would have accepted I was a conman, which really sticks in my throat.

I said to him on a number of occasions I can fix the lights so that they are spot on, and that the problem is that due to them being not as listed, and in poor condition and that a partial refund based on this poor condition would be best (as I have wanted a set of STI lights since I bought the car). I wasn`t after much just a new set of bulb holders not rusted, and a realistic price based on the condition they were in minus cost of the holders, all of which was in his hands, as I stated I wanted to make them into a decent set. Which I don`t think I was being unreasonable tbh.

His feedback on Ebay to me says it all, and thats since 2008. I`ve been there since 2003 and have 100%, never had an issue buying or selling. And tbh will stick to traders on here and other forums, as I`m yet to have a bad experience, as members on here are genuine.

Call me stupid for not having a refund, but I`ll take it on the chin to show him up.

If he is a member on here my advise is to STEER CLEAR, and AVOID AT ALL COSTS, on here and ESP Ebay.

im having a bad experiece with paypal/ ebay aswell i posted an item on saturday via recorded delivery and provided tracking number and on tuesday got an email from paypal saying the buyer has opened a dispute and is demanding a refund because they havent turned up.

paypal have taken money from the account but it had already been removed can they take it from my bank? also now noticed they have left feedback on 11 occasions stating they had to claim for items not delivered. which leads me to believe that they are just chancers and the postman has been to lazy to get a signature

if you paid for a recorded delivery, just enter the recorded delivery number into paypal and I believe this will cover you. I dont think they can take cash from your account without your permission and signature.

File a paypal claim, Send him an empty box recorded delivery. When the tracking details show he's received the package you should get your full refund!

You get your money back and he learns a lesson about ripping people off!

I got ripped off a few years ago by a chancer on ebay, I sent the item recorded delivery and even though I had written confirmation from the courier Paypal still found in favour of the buyer.
What really got me was that the buyer even admitted in an email what he had done and even after this was sent to ebay they still found in his favour, from that day on I decided never to sell anything on ebay again.

How can he justify charging £150 for a set of lights that I personally would have put in the bin, I know they are rare but to pay that sort of money and then have to replace half the holders and have to clean them yourself is a joke.
