Russians on holiday

Russians on holiday
Turkey (where I've just been) and Egypt etc is full of them. I don't mean to sound racist but on the whole they seem quite rude and abrupt. They seem especially so to children.
Whenever one of our children went up to one of the adults they would just stare at them coldly and then look the other way. Not even a smile. Don't get me wrong, my kids weren't pestering them, I wouldn't allow that.
They also don't quite understand queuing and the wimmins don't quite get 'understated'. They would come down to breakfast in high heels and cocktail dresses.
They're an odd lot. Any chance we can put the iron curtain back up??

He said "please and thank you" are not in their vocabulary. Also, if he tried to spark up a conversation with one or two, they looked at him as if he was nuts and walked off

They are an unsociable arrogant bunch who are unused to mixing with the rest of the world.
The majority of Russians out & about on holiday tend to be the very rich & powerful ones back home (drug dealers / politicians / company owners) -mainly the former. They tend to take extended breaks to lie low.
When I was holidaying in Vietnam (actually very nice BTW), one of the resorts had a group of 20 who had stayed there for over 6 months. They acted like they owned the place. The staff were petrified to stand against them as they had no backup from their management (who could only see $).
I now ask in advance if the resort allows Russians to stay - and avoid the ones which do.
You may call me prejudiced, but hey, it's my money & I don't want my holiday spoilt by a bunch of *** ends.

My missus is Russian, well former Russian. Its a big thing over there that ladies look after themselves (which is fine by me apart from we never get anywhere on time). She regularly comments as to the state of many of our homegrown ladies. 
One thing I would say is they don't mince their words or do subtlety. That takes some getting used to!

You can make any culture sound bad really, people are intolerable by nature, we dont like people who are different and we like people who are the same as us more than all the others, thats why when you go abroad we tend to look for people from your country, when we are in a different city we are always keen on seeing people from our own city or village etc.
This might sound like news to you, but I know for a fact that in eastern Europe ( Latvija, Estonia, Lithuania, etc ) they consider English people to be quite arrogant and rude, i was told on multiple occaisions that all they do is get drunk, cause trouble and try to chat up every pretty girl.
Matter of the fact is, every culture has their population of good people and bad people and people that you meet on holidays are not a particularly good representation of the general population.
Russians might look like they are rude, but it might be a simple fact that they dont know English language too well and it might seem that they dont like to talk or express their feelings when they just simply dont know how to do that in English.
They also get drunk alot , especially on holidays - and how polite are You when you've just had a bottle of vodka ? ? : )
As for the women, they do try to look nice for the opposite sex - whats wrong with that and dont forget that there are more women per capita in Russia than in most other countries, so alot of them are out hunting for men, especially not the pretty ones
Anyway, i've left a few English friends behind and noone ever said im particularly rude or anything, i do have my moments of course !

My experience is that Russian's on holiday specifically tend to be a certain type of Russian (as mentioned above): so quite rich, used to treating people like rubbish in their own country and it flows over to everywhere else.
I quite like Russians in general.

People are the same the world over. That's generally what happens when under-educated,unsophisticated people find easy money.
Did you see the the programme about the Russians in Monte Carlo....should have seen the way they decorated their villas!!
